HDFC Bank, one of India's leading private sector banks, has announced a scheduled downtime for its debit and credit card services. This temporary unavailability is set to occur on June 4th 2024 and June 6th 2024 from 12:30 AM to 2:30 AM. During these periods, all ATM withdrawals, point-of-sale (POS) transactions, and online transactions will be affected. Specifically, Rupay card and Netsafe online transactions will be impacted on both days.
Additionally, starting June 25, 2024, HDFC Bank will implement changes to its notification system. Customers will continue to receive email alerts for all UPI transactions, while SMS notifications will be sent only for transactions above Rs 100 (money sent/paid) and Rs 500 (money received). Debit card services through net banking, including card upgrades, setting usage limits, PIN generation, hot-listing, re-issuance, and account linking, will remain available.
While the temporary unavailability of HDFC Bank's debit and credit card services may cause some inconvenience, the planned system upgrade is a necessary step towards enhancing the bank's digital infrastructure and ensuring better service quality in the long run. Customers are encouraged to plan accordingly and utilise alternative payment methods during the specified period. HDFC Bank remains committed to providing seamless banking experiences and appreciates the patience and understanding of its valued customers during this upgrade process.
